[ RESULTS FOR THE 2022 DIAMOND ISLAND REGATTA! ]

CHARLOTTE, Vt. — Saturday, August 13, brings the 10th annual Diamond Island Regatta, the signature racing event of the Diamond Island Yacht Club. The race is part of the Lake Champlain Championship Series (LCCS) and benefits the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.

Race day starts with our traditional breakfast at the DIYC tent at Point Bay Marina at 8 a.m. You’ll find coffee, tea, juice, and a selection of hot and cold entrees. The suggested $5 donation goes to the museum. A skippers’ meeting will take place at 9 a.m., and the race starting sequence begins at 11 a.m. out on Town Farm Bay. The post-race party starts at 4:30 back at the DIYC tent with a fun presentation from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum where you can learn more about the Charlotte whale, the history of Lake Champlain, and mark the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act and hear what it’s meant for the lake. That’s followed by the awards ceremony, raffle drawings throughout the evening and at 5:30 p.m., the Lobster Fest dinner, all to celebrate Lake Champlain and benefit the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.

This event is a Registered Clean Regatta, certified by Sailors for the Sea. We’ll have a water refill station available, so you can bring your water bottle and avoid single use plastics. You’ll hear more about our other initiatives at the event!

Please plan to stay and join us for the Split Rock Race on Sunday, August 14. This race is also part of the LCCS, so you’ll have a chance to rack up some more points toward the series season standings before heading home.

Below, you’ll find links to the Race Registration Form (the online registration deadline is 9 p.m. on August 12), notice of race documents and sailing instructions for both races, as well as the marks and courses info for Diamond Island Yacht Club events.

If you’re visiting us for these events Point Bay Marina is offering $1/foot slips and free moorings to racers, but spots are extremely limited, so call the marina at 802.425.2431 to be added to the list. You can also anchor off the mooring field, or in nearby Kingsland or Converse Bays.

Can’t wait to see you all out on the course and under the open-air club tent for the celebration!
