Each season, the Fast Sail series includes one evening event. This year that event takes place on June 7, at 6 p.m., at the usual Fast Sail starting line off Dean Island in Town Farm Bay.
The annual free safety check, performed by Coast Guard-trained volunteers, is for vessels docked or moored at Point Bay Marina. They will check out your safety equipment like flares, life jackets, lights, sound devices, fire extinguishers etc. and things like disposal placards and registration. NO TICKETS will be issued! If you pass, you will get a sticker to display on your boat and if you fall short, they’ll let you know what you need. Sign up at the Point Bay Marina store.
The annual Commodore’s Reception is a great way to kick-start the boating season. All are welcome for coffee and breakfast.

The Diamond Island Regatta, DIYC’s major sailing event of each season, is scheduled for August 12. The day begins under the DIYC tent with a breakfast (8 a.m.) and a skippers’ meeting (9 a.m.). The starting sequence for the race begins at 11 a.m. on Town Farm Bay. Back under the tent, a post-race party and awards ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m., and the annual Lobster Fest dinner gets under way at 5:30 p.m.
Diamond Island Regatta race day starts with our traditional breakfast at the DIYC tent at Point Bay Marina at 8 a.m. You’ll find coffee, tea, juice, and a selection of hot and cold entrees. A suggested $5 donation goes to support the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
Following the Diamond Island Regatta and ahead of the Lobster Fest dinner, there will be 4:30 p.m. post-race party under the DIYC tent, and all are welcome. Note that you do NOT need a ticket to the Lobster Fest dinner to attend the post-race party. The event will feature the awards ceremony and more. Stay tuned for more details.
The annual Lobster Fest dinner, a celebration following the Diamond Island Regatta, takes place this year on August 12 at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales will begin a few weeks before the event.
The Split Rock Race, added to the schedule in 2021, takes place on August 13, the day following the Diamond Island Regatta. Both of these sailboat races are part of the Lake Champlain Championship Series.
A weekend rendezvous for club members at the dock in Westport, N.Y., is on the schedule for August. Stay tuned for details.
A pursuit sailboat race, starting on Town Farm Bay and ending off Westport, N.Y., will take place on Saturday morning of the Destination Westport Weekend. Details to follow.

The Cidertini Challenge is not to be missed. It’s DIYC’s last race of the year and features a classic start and finish (committee boat, horns, and flags) and classes for both Jib & Main and Spinnaker racing. Starting sequence begins at 11 a.m. The Cidertini Party will follow at the DIYC tent, beginning at 4:30 p.m. You don’t have to race to attend: All club members are welcome!
